Each year, Faith Plans partner the Focolare Movement holds a residential gathering of members to focus on a different theme which connects their faith to action, knowns as 'Mariapolis'.
In 2023, Catherine Devitt of FaithInvest will speak on the theme of faith and ecology at the Mariapolis gathering in Stockholm, Sweden, during the weekend of 20 May. 'Mariapolis' means 'City of Mary', and the event will bring together followers of the Focolare Movement from all around Europe.
This talk arises frm their EcoPlan, which was produced with support from FaithInvest. Through this plan, the Focolare will extend, connect and expand the environmental work that already exists within the movement.
The EcoPlan was unveiled in 2022 at Stockholm+50 in Sweden. The plan was presented to Dr Iyad Abumoghli, Director of the United Nations Environment Programme and Dr Lorna Gold, Director of Movement Building at FaithInvest by Nino Puglisi, a member of the Focolare Movement.
